There, you can connect with our experts in meetup sessions, try our unique software challenges, and go on a treasure hunt to discover a wealth of resources for open source and HPE technologies. Our Hack Shack Meetup sessions are designed to help you get your questions answered. These 30-minute discussions are led by technology experts who’ll introduce the topic, point out important features, and then engage in conversation with you as a group. You’ll also have an opportunity to connect with them after each session to go into further detail about your specific situation.

Speaker: Max Lambrecht (HPE) SPIRE Integration with Istio for Edge-to-Cloud Security Beyond Kubernetes Microservices

Current service mesh solutions do not support leveraging service identity beyond east-west traffic to support advanced attestation capabilities for end-to-end service encryption, granular policy management, and traffic flows across distributed environments. In this talk, we'll discuss how SPIFFE and SPIRE integration with Istio complements Istio's authentication and attestation capabilities to provide more robust and flexible attestation beyond Kubernetes namespaces and service accounts.

HPE Developer Treasure Hunt

Want to win a new HPE Developer t-shirt or even possibly a hoodie? Participate in our scavenger hunt style Treasure Hunt! To answer the questions correctly, you’ll need to explore the physical Hack Shack in Las Vegas and scrutinize the HPE Developer portal. Those who complete the Treasure Hunt will have the opportunity to receive a t-shirt. Twelve lucky winners who answer all the questions correctly and attend our Wednesday evening Hack Shack Celebration Party will also win an HPE Developer hoodie. Software Challenges

In an earlier blog post, It’s all Fun and Games at the Hack Shack, we went into detail about our Hack Shack challenges. These role-based software challenges, which you’ll find listed in the HPE Discover 2022 catalog as session HSC5227, are available daily at the Hack Shack. Those who participate in these challenges and enter in the provided token key from June 28-30th can receive an HPE branded t-shirt. Take any of our software challenges on Tuesday, June 28th or Wednesday, June 29th and be entered for one of 6 grand prizes. One grand prize winner will be selected for each challenge. Participants must be present at the Wednesday evening 5:00-6:00pm Hack Shack Celebration to win a grand prize. (For complete details, please refer to the Terms & Conditions.)

Join the Party!

Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:00pm, you’re invited to join us in the Hack Shack for our Celebration Party. Attendees will be treated to food (pizza, yay!) and refreshments (including beer) and get the opportunity to go home with some additional swag. Sit down, relax, and listen to our master of ceremonies, Robert Christiansen, VP of Strategy in the CTO Office at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

You’ll also meet our hardworking HPE Developer Community members who deliver the program, as well as our special guests, Kirk Bresniker and Dr. Eng Lim Goh. Kirk Bresniker, HPE VP and HPE Labs Chief Architect, will hand out the grand prizes for our software challenges. Dr. Eng Lim Goh, Senior VP and Chief Technologist for AI, will announce the prizes for our Treasure Hunt winners.
